In the Middle

Hypnotic mesmerizing loneliness
Muffles my soul and threatens to
Cast it into the sky into a million shards
The ache and sound of your own fear
Screaming into the night
In a silent tear
Soft yet repelling
Rolled about like the bottom
Of my coffee
Sipping for that last bit of flavor
Hours of chasing mirrors
Finally the darkness exploding
Painting me
Accepting my speck in the
Universe

Last night I slept in the middle of my bed for the first time in years.
I chose that.
It means something.
